Above, Below Above, Below - Melting Amber

Imposter, where are the seams in your crooked mask?
Duplicate, why do you drape yourself in familiar skin?
Automaton, you merely imitate who I once loved
You cannot be, you cannot be, you cannot be
The echo maker took you from me

Through eventide, I wander blind
Twilight eyes, seeking sight
Amber designs, melt raptured skies
Obscured lies, your glowing mind

Nature has a cunning way to find our weakest spots

Oh, Delphic replica
You shift me back to Ithaca
Where we once fell in endless blue
A hue no longer found in you

In tongues, you emit memory
In tongues, you emulate
But your once earthly kiss, now alien

Persuades me that you imitate, you imitate
You imitate, I disassociate
Beneath a golden temple of delusion

I drain the honey (each drip)
Falling from the tree of sight (each drip)
A Sun in my eyes (each drip)
And in that final drip (I recognise you)

Through eventide, I wander blind
Twilight eyes, seeking sight
Amber designs, melt raptured skies
Obscured lies, my glowing mind

The fruit of my tree are sick and few
Infection seething through and through
I dance deluded in a chemical downpour
Hoping that I will see you once more

To feel that vibrant love in agape
Devoid of all chicanery
To see the mask removed
To see the colours of truth

Melt, melt the amber
To see the crystal blue
Melt the amber to see the crystal blue
Melt, melt the amber
To see the crystal blue
